We’ve put aside £150,000 to help fund businesses in our region with projects that benefit local communities and the environment by helping to save every drop.
Businesses, big and small, can make a huge difference to the amount of water they can save each year; leaving more in the environment for nature to thrive today while securing supplies for tomorrow.
So, if you have a great project or idea to support your business save water, but don’t have the funds to make it happen, we want to hear from you.
Why should businesses save water?
Water is a precious resource; vital to our health, wellbeing, economy and environment. Yet, we’re facing significant challenges to maintain supplies. Not only are we the driest area in the UK, we’re also one of the fastest growing, with an estimated 20 per cent increase in population by 2050. The effects of climate change are adding to these demands.
With less rainfall, hotter weather and more people, our water supplies are under serious pressure. At current rates, demand will outstrip supply as there’s only so much we can take out of our environment.
Together, we need to save every drop today, so we have enough to keep our taps flowing and toilets flushing tomorrow.
Saving water will also save you more on water and energy bills – so it’s good for your business and the planet!
How you and your business can help
We’re offering grants for new and innovative ideas to help reduce the amount of water used by businesses across our region. We’ll provide up to £40,000 in funding to support eligible projects deliver water savings.
If you have an idea for a project to help us save every drop – from using new technology and innovative equipment in your business to education and behaviour change programmes – we want to hear from you.
