We’re investing in one of the biggest programmes of water pipe renewal our region has ever seen – helping to protect supplies, reduce leaks and bursts, and keep water flowing reliably for years to come.

The people powering your water network

The IMRDS Alliance tackles a wide range of challenges across our network. From using smart metering and monitoring to reduce water use, to replacing old pipes, fixing leaks and connecting new homes and developments. By managing the network and installing new connections, we’re supporting growth across the region and helping to protect this precious resource for future generations.

At the heart of it all is partnership. IMRDS brings together the skills and experience of Anglian Water, Clancy and Kier, building on nearly a decade of collaboration. Together, we’re learning from the past, improving how we work, and staying focused on what matters most: keeping people safe, looking after the environment and delivering for our customers.

Our biggest water pipe renewal yet

Over the next five years, we’ll be renewing 1,134 kilometres of water pipes across the East of England (that’s the equivalent to the length of the UK!)

We’re focusing on the pipes that need it most, based on criteria set by our regulator, Ofwat – making sure we’re spending bill payers’ money wisely and efficiently.

These improvements will make our network stronger and more resilient, meaning fewer leaks, bursts and service interruptions for our customers in the future.

Innovation, collaboration and care

As part of our wider investment programme, we’re always looking for better ways to deliver – with safer, more efficient and less disruptive methods in mind.

We’re using specialist techniques like directional drilling and slip lining to install pipes with less impact on local communities and the environment. At the same time, we’re also trialling brand-new materials and approaches to make pipe laying faster, greener and more reliable.

We're proud to be investing in a stronger, more reliable water future for everyone across our region.
