Changes to charges ​​
Every year we review our water charges to make sure you’re getting the best value for your money. And in February we publish our water services charges for the coming year, which then apply from 1 April till 31 March. ​

So, you can understand what these changes to our charges might mean for you, the table below shows the average increase to annual bills for customers on our Standard Tariff with a meter, including all fixed charges. ​

 

Typical Bills on our Standard Measured Tariff (Hartlepool Area)

​Using 145 litres a day is equivalent to taking a five-minute shower, running your washing machine or dishwasher, plus water for drinking, cooking and toilet flushing. All data shown in the table are estimations and include all fixed charges.

 

Our standard charges 

This is the main tariff for most customers, and you’ll be put onto it when you first set up your account with us. 


Fixed charges for metered customers 

A fixed charge is included in all bills, and covers: 

  • customer services such as reading your water meter, sending bills and dealing with enquiries
  • the cost of maintaining your water connection to supply you with fresh clean water.

WaterSure

If your home’s on a meter, you’re finding it difficult to pay your bill and you need to use large amounts of water, then our WaterSure tariff could be for you.  It has a higher fixed rate than our standard tariff, but there’s no charge for the water you use.

AquaCare Plus

If your home’s on a meter and you’re struggling to pay your water bill, then our AquaCare Plus tariff could be for you.  It has a higher fixed rate than our standard household tariff, but charges less for the water you use.​ 


Can I switch to this tariff?​ If you have a water meter fitted and someone in your house is receiving an eligible benefit, you may be able switch to this tariff. ​
